Club World Cup
Speaking of football, the greatest
strength certainly exists in Europe and South America / Latin. These two
Qiblahs compete for status, who is the best in the beautiful affairs of the
game.
At the national team level, the Blue
Continent and the Red Continent alternately become world champions. Of the 21
World Cup titles, European representatives won 12 times while Latin American
countries won 9 times. Not far away.
Competition at the national team level
was then extended to between clubs. Therefore, since 1980 there was a party
that brought together champions of European clubs (Cup / Champions League) with
Latin American champions (Copa Libertadores).
Maybe some of us still remember the
Confederations Cup aka the Toyota Cup. From 1980-2004, Champions Cup / League
and Copa Libertadores champions were merged on Japanese soil to determine who
was the best
The full Toyota Cup in 2004, and from
2005 was replaced by the Club World Cup. The participants are no longer only
representatives of Europe and Latin America, but championship clubs in
club-to-club competitions from 6 confederations under the auspices of the World
Football Federation (FIFA).
The Club World Cup is an annual event
held in December. The location was not only in Japan, even Morocco had hosted
in 2013 and 2014.
Well, football is no longer just sports.
Football is also no longer a matter to determine who is the best.
Football has become a fantastic value
industry. Money plays an important role in football, sponsors' interests
determine how football is played. This then led to new competition ideas.
